In the Nature Park House, you can learn all about the different habitats and why they are so important for the preservation of the nature park. A special highlight here is the viewing platform, which you are certain to remember for a very long time to come.

Kaunertal Valley Museum

The valley museum in Platz takes you on a fascinating journey through the history of the region. Old ways of life and business are vividly documented here using a wide variety of objects. A tour of the rooms will give you a brief but impressive insight into the history of Kaunertal.

Kaunertal Gletscherpanoramastraße (Glacier Panorama Road)

The Glacier Panorama Road is a spectacular Alpine road that winds its way majestically through the breathtaking mountain landscape of the Kaunertal. It is a link to one of the highest road valleys in Europe. However, it is also an experience in itself. At every bend, visitors are treated to impressive views of rugged peaks, deep blue mountain lakes, and the monumental glacier.

Adlerblick viewing platform & Knappensteig trail

The viewing platform and the Knappensteig trail leading to it promise an unparalleled nature experience high above the valley. The strategically placed platform offers a fascinating panoramic view of the surrounding mountain peaks, the valley, and the majestic glacier. The Knappensteig trail itself leads through the alpine landscape and is lined with historic mining remains. It features magnificent views and offers insights into the rich history of the region.

Kaunertal crevasse

A fascinating phenomenon that impressively demonstrates the interplay of natural forces. An impressive crevasse opens up in the glacial ice here, reaching deep down into the majestic glacier formations. The clear, blue ice structures provide a glimpse into the dynamics and unique beauty of the glaciers. A visit to the crevasse allows you to experience the immense power and magic of the glacier up close.

Historical and mystical

There is a lot of it in Kaunertal, but some places are even more exceptional than others. For example, there are the “Ögghöfe”, the oldest farmhouses in Kaunertal, which were first mentioned in 1420. There are numerous stories surrounding these old walls.

If you are interested in mythology, you should definitely ask the locals about the infamous “Woman on the White Lake”.

Kaltenbrunn pilgrimage church

Tyrol was and still is strongly influenced by religion. Consequently, there is an impressive chapel or church in almost every hamlet. One of the most popular excursion destinations is the Kaltenbrunn pilgrimage church. It is over 500 years old and shines down into the valley with its red roof.

The impressive and monumental Verpeil Gorge opens up in Feichten. The wild and romantic path leads along rushing waterfalls, over paths, stairs, and a suspension bridge up to the Adlerblick viewing platform.
