There are two great ski resorts in Kaunertal: Fendels and the Kaunertal Glacier. Fendels offers a variety of slopes for beginners and advanced skiers in a family atmosphere. The Kaunertal Glacier promises guaranteed snow-rich skiing fun until spring with a breathtaking mountain panorama.
Whether you prefer leisurely slopes or tricky alpine challenges, you will find what you are looking for in Kaunertal. There is also a small ski lift right here in the village, which is particularly suitable for children and beginners.

Thanks to the abundance of cross-country skiing trails, the Kaunertal landscape is particularly easy to explore on cross-country skis. Glide along the cross-country skiing trails and enjoy the stunning panoramic views. The wonderful synergy of nature enjoyment and exercise of this Nordic sport creates the perfect balance for a wonderful vacation. The cross-country skiing trail takes you through the entire valley, and the access point is right next to our hotel. You will find more trails at the Kaunergrat Nature Park House. They will guide you through the picturesque winter landscape.

Thanks to the four natural toboggan runs in Kaunertal, you can experience amazing tobogganing with plenty of variety. The impressive Alpine landscape serves as a wonderful backdrop for fast descents and unforgettable adventures for the whole family. We would particularly recommend nighttime tobogganing in Feichten and Fendels, when the runs are lit up by lanterns and the starry sky creates a very unique ambience. If you don’t have your own toboggan, you can rent one from us at the WiesenPlatzl. This way, nothing stands in the way of your adventure.

Passionate ski tourers will find impressive conditions for fantastic adventures here. Away from the slopes, you can explore the mountain landscape on numerous routes. We highly recommend the ski tour to the “old Fendler Alm” chalet. This beautiful tour features an impressive panorama and leisurely ascent. The route leads along the forest path next to slope 4a, past a picturesque mountain meadow and charming wooden cabins. The home stretch is a hiking trail through a small forest section that takes you directly to the mountain chalet. Whether you are an experienced mountaineer or a beginner, Kaunertal offers plenty of routes for every skill level.

Discover the marvelous opportunities to enjoy a winter adventure on skates. The Kaunertal ice rink, right next to Quellalpin, offers an idyllic backdrop for ice skating on glistening ice. The natural lake in Ried also forms a thick layer of ice in the winter months, guaranteeing fun and action. Put on your skates and step onto the ice!

For the really harsh winter days, we recommend a visit to the Quellalpin leisure center. Dive into the clear spring water, drift away, and simply enjoy the moment. The wide range of saunas offers the perfect level of relaxation for body, mind, and soul. From the Finnish sauna to a bio-sauna and a variety of relaxation rooms, you will find everything you need for a peaceful day here. Even the youngest of our guests will get their money’s worth here thanks to the lovingly designed children’s area with pleasantly warm water temperatures, a mini slide, and fun water figurines.
For those gray winter days that are too harsh for outdoor adventures, the Quellalpin leisure center features a bowling alley, a rock-climbing site, and a fully equipped gym.
